Having invested in the UK’s first-ever Terex Ecotec TWH 220 sold almost nine years ago, C H Middleton have gone on to purchase four TWH waste handlers, each supplied by Warwick Ward. Reflecting on that first investment, Guy Middleton, Technical Waste Director, explained: “Looking back at the original purchase of the first TWH 220 when we trialled several other manufacturers’ machines the Terex Ecotec machine stood out above all the rest and was a delight for our operators who praised the operating ability and comfort of the machine. Obviously, we were conscious of the age of the original machine which led us to further investment in this new machine. Warwick Ward again supplied a new TWH 220 which has again underlined the quality of the product and the solid relationship we have with Warwick Ward. One of the factors were the EU Tier V engines that give smooth power accompanied with excellent fuel economy and low emissions. This is all in keeping with our profile – being as ‘green’ as possible. It was really a ‘no-brainer’ to be honest, the original TWH 220 has been an absolute workhorse with superb build quality, and we have always had full support over the years from Warwick Ward.”
The TWH 220 Waste Handler is purpose-built for the demanding world of waste and recycling. Combining a 10.4-metre reach with a 21-tonne operating weight, it offers exceptional manoeuvrability, visibility and control. Engineered for durability, the boom incorporates double-edged cylinder bearings, while a high-performance cooling system with separated radiators ensures optimal thermal management. Operators benefit from an air-cushioned comfort seat, adjustable joysticks, climate control and a host of ergonomic features designed for fatigue-free productivity throughout the working day.
