The role of PDI Workshop Supervisor involves the management of the PDI Workshop and a small team of engineers who carry out pre delivery inspections on new construction and recycling equipment.
Duties:
- Planning and management of workload in the PDI workshop, identifying priority jobs/tasks and meeting deadlines
- Effectively allocating resource based on skills/ability
- Regular liaison with management and sales personnel to ensure exact requirements are agreed
- Provide updates to management and sales personnel on status of machines, problems and potential delays
- Direct liaison with stores/parts
- Dealing with issues arising and escalating problems/issues to management
- Ensure documentation is completed and correct
- Identify and instigate improved methods of working to improve throughput of machines
- Management of PDI engineers, including H&S and HR responsibilities
The ideal candidate should have:
- Relevant qualifications in Plant Maintenance
- Knowledge and experience of hydraulic and electronic schematics
- Ability to demonstrate electrical and hydraulic experience in fitting lights, in-cab systems (Radios, Cameras ect), hydraulic hitches including extra hydraulic equipment that may be specified to be fitted at the PDI stage
- Knowledge of current construction / heavy plant
- A detailed and thorough approach and the ability to work at a high standard within a set time frame
- Knowledge and experience of the requirements of ISO 9001
- Proven man management skills
