About the role
Working with one of our Service Controller, the person in this role will administer the end to end field service activities for a small team of 6/7 field service engineers. These engineers will carry out over 2,400 customer visits each year, in an allocated geographical area. All these visits need to be scheduled, processed, and invoiced; ultimately resulting in happy customers and a business return.
You will part be of the National Service team, based at our Headquarters in Blacker Hill, Barnsley, as the business grows this gives the right candidate great development opportunities. As with all team members they will be expected to help drive a positive and developing business mentality, to fuel excellence and business returns. The role incorporates all administration requirements of a small team within our service department:
- Assist with scheduling and creating Job Cards for your Service team.
- Liaise with engineers on all work completed, paperwork requirements, etc.
- Keep all service admin systems up to date, including reporting on performance & KPIs.
- Generate customer quotations and ensure purchase orders are received.
- Ensure that any sub-contractor costing is controlled and allocated correctly.
- Invoice and close each job, in a timely manner.
- Liaise with both external and internal customers, ensuring a strong feedback loop is maintained.
- Support/cover for the service back-office team when require.
About you
You will need to have a desire to deliver a high-quality service:
- Ideally, having a proven track record in a service administration role, or similar role.
- Experience within the Heavy Plant or Recycling Industry would be favourable, but not essential.
- You must be well organised, methodical, have great attention to detail, with good numerical and computer skills.
- You should have a strong but understanding personality, and the capability to work independently and within the larger team.
- You will have the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
